Hotel Miracorgo

We have stayed at the Miracorgo before. It is a lovely comfortable hotel in the centre of town, close to the many restaurants and bars but far enough away to be unaffected by noise. The staff are very helpful and speak excellent English. My husband had lost his motorcycle gloves and the very nice man at reception was able to locate a shop for us. There was also a very nice lady at reception who gave us information about the valley walkway (visible from the hotel) so we could make the walk NB good shoes required! There is a good bar in the hotel and the nice man in charge was also very helpful. The pool area was good too. Underground pool with outside sunbeds and towels provided.

Our Standard double room with small balcony & breakfast was great, we had a spectacular view of the Rio Corgo Gorge which was enhanced at night by floodlights. Our room came with breakfast, a comfortable bed, air conditioning, shower over the bath, TV, wardrobes and a small fridge. The balcony was large enough for us both to sit outside and enjoy an afternoon beverage. The hotel has 2 indoor pools the larger being 16 metres long, a very well equipped modern gym and outdoor sun leaners on the terrace and by the pool. The staff were great, very accommodating to our needs and friendly. We based ourselves here to visit the Douro Valley (no car) and being an easy 900 metre walk to the bus station to get to Regua, the valley and the MiraDouro Train made that easy. Great location.

The hotel, while a bit older, is very well maintained and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful and the free underground parking was appreciated. Breakfast included all the essentials such as scrambled eggs, a selection of breads, fruits, pastries, cheese, coffee etc. We really liked the location as it is a 5 min walk to centre of town and many restaurants. Also the view from our room was excellent as it overlooked the river valley behind the hotel. The bathroom was also nice, clean and worked well. Overall, a great stay

A good stay in a very clean property. The hotel is definitely in need of updating but it was exceptionally clean and comfortable and perfect for passing through for the night. Free parking onsite. Close location to local restaurants and shops. The included breakfast was great, with many options. Although we didn’t use the facilities, the pool area and gym looked great. Staff were all friendly and welcoming.

Family member was in hospital in Vila Real so it was handy for that and near to restaurants bars and shops with spectacular scenery at the rear. All staff were efficient and helpful. Breakfast was very good with good choice.
